Detroit, Michigan Millipede Control

Arthropods that prefer wet and damp environments in wood and plants are millipedes. Slow creatures with legs that range from 100 to 400 pairs are often millipedes.

• Millipedes can have anywhere from 30 to 400 legs.
• Millipedes can create a nuisance in greenhouses by feeding on plant seedlings.
• As millipedes do not have eyes, they use antennae to sense their surroundings.
• Millipedes have elongated tubular bodies with two legs per segment.

Removing damp areas with plants is the best way to avoid millipedes. In moistened areas, millipedes can congregate under rocks. Call your local pest control service if there are millipedes in and around your home.
