Ants
Ants are the most common type of pest found in the home. Belonging to the Formicidae family and the insect order known as Hymenoptera, ants are closely relates to wasps and bees.
They are most recognized for their ability to unite as a colony and remain organized, having a distinct division of labor and collectively working as a unit to accomplish one goal.
Ants are known for their thin waists and elbowed antennae, and when they invade a person’s home, it’s often difficult to kill the entire colony. Additionally, pest control methods vary with every type of ant species (there are 12,000 species in the world). The most common ants in North America include carpenter ants, Argentine ants, pharaoh ants, fire ants and sugar ants.
